WINTER CAMPOUT/OTHER INFORMATION


Hi Guys,
First off, thank you very much for running the Halloween Party event for our Den. I really appreciate everybody stepping up to lend a hand.

PLEASE BE SURE TO CATCH UP AND DO THE ACHIEVEMENTS YOUR SON HAS MISSED.

A few dates to keep in mind:

NOVEMBER 7TH: COLLECT FOOD BAGS AND DROP THEM OFF AT THE PRIMROSE FIRE STATION.

NOVEMBER 12: DEN MEETING 6:30 SCOUTER'S HALL. WORKING ON ACHIEVEMENT 5. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING: HAMMER, SMALL FLAT AND PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW DRIVER, PLYERS,SAND PAPER(FINE GRIT IF YOU HAVE IT), AND SOME NEWS PAPER TO COVER WORK SURFACE.

NOVEMBER 20-22:WINTER CAMPOUT AT CUBWORLD.

**THINGS YOU WILL NEED FOR THE CAMPOUT**

Although we will be sleeping inside a building, there will be NO heat, so it is important, depending on how cold it will be, to be prepared. If you have gone in years past, you should know what to expect.

1) Warm sleeping bag(20 degree or colder rating should be fine).

2) No electric heating devices are allowed, but you can bring chemical hand/feet, and body warmers. They do work well at night to stuff into the foot of your sleeping bag...follow instructions.

3) Dress in layers.

4) Raincoat/waterproof shell if weather looks like rain or snow.

5) Flash light.

6) Warm shoes or boots.

7) Hat and gloves.

8) Snacks.

9) Water bottle(for night once we turn in).

We will go over this at the next Den Meeting on 11/12/09

UPCOMING EVENTS AND IMPORTANT DATES


Hi Everyone,
Here are some important dates to keep in mind as we head toward the holidays.

1. Next Den Meeting.....10/22/09

2. Halloween Party......10/23/09
Please note that each Scout MUST bring one small pumpkin for decorating and one snack. Additionally, I will not be able to attend the party so, we need to have some of the parents from our den help out by volunteering at one of the activities. I would take turns and run the activity in shifts.

3. Winter campout registrations and money must be in no later than 10/23/09.

4. Scouting for Food Bags will be distributed by 10/31/09. They MUST be dropped off in your area in order to give people a chance to donate some food to a great cause.

5. Collect food bags and drop off at Primrose Fire Station......11/7/09

!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!

If your son misses a meeting, it is crucial that you do the requirements at home with your son, and report back to me with his completion, so I can mark him down as completing the activity. We all want to get the Wolf badges at the same time. If we did a craft or made something pertaining to a requirement, I will give you whatever we worked on at the next meeting.

If you miss the meeting, dues are still collected. I buy enough projects, supplies, etc...for each boy.
