DECEMBER EVENTS

Hello,
Here we are in December. Please read through the past posts if you are not sure what we have completed so far....and mark the items off in your book.

Here is what is going on:

DECEMBER 7TH...SING A LONG AT ST ANTOINE'S UNIFORMS AND 2 ORNAMENTS ARE NECESSARY. RUNS 6:30-8:30

DECEMBER 8TH....DEN MEETING 6:30-7:30. BE PREPARED TO DISCUSS THE REMAINDER OF THE CITIZENSHIP PIN AND REMEMBER TO BRING ONE SMALL GIFT TO FULFILL THE SERVICE REQUIREMENT OF THE CITIZENSHIP PIN

DECEMBER 16TH....PACK MEETING. START TIME 6:30.

Bob Bergeron is going to lead us on a short hike in Cumberland. This will go towards one requirement pertaining to the Outdoorsman requirement.

OCTOBER EVENTS AND REQUIREMENTS DUE

Hi Guys,
Please be sure to work on the "Fitness" section, page 246. You can complete the balance of this requirement at home.

Please complete 1 a-b-c  for the "Athlete" section, page 124
You can mark down 4-5a, 5c, 5d,  and 6.
I have some of the work sheets from last meeting to record the progress.
We will finish the balance of pieces together in between other things.

For homework, please write a short piece on describing the flag(what the different parts mean) and a short history. Use the lines on the flag to write the report on. This is found on page 144, "Citizen" section.

Next meeting is 10/27/11-Heather Robertson will be hosting the meeting. We will be working on "Artist" page 102. I will forward a list of materials to bring in one I know.

Important date-HALLOWEEN PARTY---10/28/11 @ 7PM. PLEASE BRING ONE SMALL PUMPKIN AND A DONATION OF FOOD FOR THE FOOD BANK.

Please do not forget to turn in your registration form and payment ASAP. Also, we are looking to finalize the dues collections by next time we meet. Checks or cash to be turned into Lou Parente.

NOTES:
1. I suggest buying a 3 ring binder to keep your son's projects/papers/etc..in. Makes things much easier for me to check.

2. Please also remember if you are hosting the den meeting and you need to buy something, I can only reimburse up to $15.00. The balance spent will be your responsibility. Each year I used my own money to purchase supplies which far exceeded the amount of dues collected. Last year alone I spent out of pocket $427.42 over the amount collected. I don't get reimbursed by BSA if you were wondering.

3. Finally if you are hosting a den meeting, you will be responsible for the snack.

4. Please let me know if you have an interest in any particular requirement. We can plan it together.

FIRST DEN MEETING NOTES AND FOLLOW UP


Hi Guys,
The first den meeting went well. I want to keep in close contact with everyone so we all progress at the same rate.
Here is the recap of what we discussed:

1) All the boys must have appropriate Webelos attire.

2) All the boys MUST have a Webelos book. A good portion of what we will be doing this year will need to be done at home.

3) All dues for the year will be collected at the next meeting on 10/13/11. Total due for each of us will be $30.00. Please make out checks to the Den Chief financial Officer-Louis Parente. We will discuss how this will work at a later date.

4) A Denner will be voted in each month. Each boy will serve at least once.

5) Each parent will have the opportunity to run an entire den meeting. We will discuss ahead of time what will be required.

6) Please mark off in your book the following completed sections.

  A. Page 49.......3, 4, 7a, 7b
  B. Complete ...1 and 8 as a family. Mark off when done.

7) Home work(FITNESS REQUIREMENTS) which we will briefly discuss next time we meet:
      
   A. Page 246 do 1a, 1b, 1c
   B. Page 246 do 3 this week and 4 next week(I passed out the handouts for this).
   C. Try to do 1

8) Next meeting will be held outside. No uniform is necessary. Have your boy wear sweats and sneakers. I would like to meet at NSES and use one of the fields. We will be working on the ATHLETE REQUIREMENTS...page 124.  Also plan on a brief discussion.

I know this looks like alot, but many of the do at home things are quick. Be sure to mark them off in the book.

REGISTRATION NIGHT

Hi,
I can't believe we are already back---but we are. Very exciting this year for the boys to be the "Big Men On Campus" as Webelos. Please remember that the registration night it Sept 8th 5:30-8:00. Forms can be downloaded from the web site pack7.com. Please bring payment...$45.00.

APRIL EVENTS

Hi Guys,
April is finally here. Here is the list of events planned for April. I know with all the sports going on, that this coming meeting may be our last official Den meeting for the year.

APRIL 14TH 6:30-7:30 DEN MEETING

We will be making a birdhouse, so you and your son will need to bring the following items.
1) Hammer
2) Phillips head screwdriver or cordless drill driver with a phillips head bit
3) Old paint brush. It will be used to apply glue
4) Newspaper
5) Tape measure

APRIL 28TH 6:30-7:30 (POSSIBLE DEN MEETING)
We will need to wait and see who can make it. We do need to make a den flag for our chuck wagon, so we may just meet with who is available to get this done.

APRIL 29TH 6:30-8PM DEN MEETING
There will be some sort of entertainment and the boys will be receiving arrow points for all the extra electives we completed.

MAY 21ST CHUCKWAGON
Great event for the boys. This event is held at the Feinstein Youth Camp. Boys do need to wear uniforms, but we may be looking into getting T-shirts. There will be a small fee for the shirts....stay tuned.

MAY 30TH MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
I will have more information coming on this.

MARCH EVENTS

Yay! March is finally here. Here is whats going on for March.

MARCH 10TH
Den meeting at 6:30. We will be doing the same project as in February. Please be sure to bring the following items this Thursday:

1) 2 clear 2 liter soda bottles washed with label removed.
2) Razor knife(if you have one)
3) Newspaper( I have some from the last meeting-but I always forget to bring some)

**** please be sure to bring in your money for the Blue & Gold ****
Scouts are free and so are children under 3.
ages 3-10=$10.00
11-adult=$13.00
If paying by check, please make out to Pack 7

This may be the last meeting-not sure though

FEBRUARY EVENTS



Hi there,
Well, we are already into February. Congratulations to all our racers. Your cars looked great. Good job on representing Bear 2!

FEBRUARY 10TH

Our next Den Meeting will be this Thursday 2/10/11 at 6:30 Scouters Hall. We will be working on a woodworking project...yay, something cool! We are going to make a Pinewood Derby Car Display stand. Here is the supply list for our meeting.

Supply List:

1) Hammer
2) Phillips head screwdriver/drill with phillips head bit(#2)
3) Newspaper
4) Pinewood Derby car

We will do the painting and assembly. I did one at home, and if we move a decent pace, we will be able to finish this project within our 1 hour time frame.

** I need to catch up with the dues, so I will have an up to date dues sheet with what each person owes **
