January - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!


Happy New Year everyone!

Here is a listing of the upcoming events for this month.

JANUARY 7TH-Pinewood Derby Workshop. I will be there to give out your cars, so please stop in if only to get your Pinewood Derby car. Start time 6pm until 8pm. If you need help making your car, there will be tools and help available.

JANUARY 14TH-Den meeting. 6:30-7:30. We will be working on...God help me..The Food Pyramid again. Achievement 8. Also, please take a look at achievement 7. Each boy needs to bring in an article about 'How people are protecting our world". Most of 7 is done at home with your boy. Same with 8, except our conversation about the food pyramid. I am trying to do something fun with the Food Pyramid this time.

JANUARY 21ST-Pinewood Derby Registration Night. You must bring your COMPLETED Pinewood Derby Car in for check in. Time 6pm-8pm at Scouter's Hall.

JANUARY 23RD-Race Day.We will be at the High School. Start @ 11AM.

December Calendar


Hi Guys,
We have a busy month for December:

1) December 10th-Den Meeting. We are going to do Achievement 6. This is one where the boys discuss with the group thier collection of 10 things. This can be a collection of anything. Each Scout will have about 2-3 minutes to tell us about thier collection. We will then make our ornaments for the nursing home, have snack and end the meeting. Anthony and Sean are our Denners, so they will bring the snacks and drinks.

2) December 11th- Pack meeting at 7pm

3) December 16th-Sing along at St Antoine's. Meet there at 6:30pm.

WINTER CAMPOUT/OTHER INFORMATION


Hi Guys,
First off, thank you very much for running the Halloween Party event for our Den. I really appreciate everybody stepping up to lend a hand.

PLEASE BE SURE TO CATCH UP AND DO THE ACHIEVEMENTS YOUR SON HAS MISSED.

A few dates to keep in mind:

NOVEMBER 7TH: COLLECT FOOD BAGS AND DROP THEM OFF AT THE PRIMROSE FIRE STATION.

NOVEMBER 12: DEN MEETING 6:30 SCOUTER'S HALL. WORKING ON ACHIEVEMENT 5. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING: HAMMER, SMALL FLAT AND PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW DRIVER, PLYERS,SAND PAPER(FINE GRIT IF YOU HAVE IT), AND SOME NEWS PAPER TO COVER WORK SURFACE.

NOVEMBER 20-22:WINTER CAMPOUT AT CUBWORLD.

**THINGS YOU WILL NEED FOR THE CAMPOUT**

Although we will be sleeping inside a building, there will be NO heat, so it is important, depending on how cold it will be, to be prepared. If you have gone in years past, you should know what to expect.

1) Warm sleeping bag(20 degree or colder rating should be fine).

2) No electric heating devices are allowed, but you can bring chemical hand/feet, and body warmers. They do work well at night to stuff into the foot of your sleeping bag...follow instructions.

3) Dress in layers.

4) Raincoat/waterproof shell if weather looks like rain or snow.

5) Flash light.

6) Warm shoes or boots.

7) Hat and gloves.

8) Snacks.

9) Water bottle(for night once we turn in).

We will go over this at the next Den Meeting on 11/12/09

UPCOMING EVENTS AND IMPORTANT DATES


Hi Everyone,
Here are some important dates to keep in mind as we head toward the holidays.

1. Next Den Meeting.....10/22/09

2. Halloween Party......10/23/09
Please note that each Scout MUST bring one small pumpkin for decorating and one snack. Additionally, I will not be able to attend the party so, we need to have some of the parents from our den help out by volunteering at one of the activities. I would take turns and run the activity in shifts.

3. Winter campout registrations and money must be in no later than 10/23/09.

4. Scouting for Food Bags will be distributed by 10/31/09. They MUST be dropped off in your area in order to give people a chance to donate some food to a great cause.

5. Collect food bags and drop off at Primrose Fire Station......11/7/09

!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!

If your son misses a meeting, it is crucial that you do the requirements at home with your son, and report back to me with his completion, so I can mark him down as completing the activity. We all want to get the Wolf badges at the same time. If we did a craft or made something pertaining to a requirement, I will give you whatever we worked on at the next meeting.

If you miss the meeting, dues are still collected. I buy enough projects, supplies, etc...for each boy.

2nd Meeting


OK-One down and eleven to go. Our next meeting will be on October 8th at 6:30. We will meet again in the large room at Scouter's Hall. Our second acievement will be "Your Flag". If you have an American Flag to bring, please do. We will need at least a few. I also plan on having the boys make their own den flags this year. If time permits, I think we can also do Achievement three, "Keep Your Body Healthy". I will pass out a chart for the boys to work on towards that achievement anyway. I hope we have some singers in the crowd, because we will do electives 11a and 11b. My two Denners next meeting will be Mathew Belcher and Ian Hartley. They both did a great job of collecting dues. They will do that as well as a few other things to help out. New Denners will be chosen each meeting, and everyone will get a chance. If you were unable to pay dues last time, please be prepared for them next meeting. With 14 scouts this year, it gets to be very expensive to buy all the supplies and uniform emblems.

First Meeting


We will be meeting on 9/24/09 at Scouter's Hall at 6:30. We will be working on the first achievement in the Wolf handbook :"FEATS OF SKILL". The boys should not wear their uniforms for this one! Please take a minute to read the first part of the handbook, and brush up on the Bobcat requirements from last year. Our first Pack Meeting will be on 9/25/09 at 6:30pm, uniforms are mandatory. Please be sure to have the correct slide, kerchief, and hat. Other than that, see you all this Thursday.

WOLF DEN 2


Hi guys,
We will be meeting for our first Den meeting on 9/24/09 at 6:30pm at Scouter's Hall. I hope everyone had a great summer. I will be posting the calendar events soon.....so stay tuned. We are going to have a great year, so I hope to see you all at the first meeting!
